Deciding on a Designer Dogs

July 8, 2019

There’s no doubt about it that designer dogs have come a long way. In fact, they are commonly loved and adored in homes across the country! Wait, let us back up for a second. Designer dogs are the latest craze in the pet-owning world. The term designer dog refers to the result of two purebred dogs mixed to create a new breed of dogs. For instance, the Poodle is one of the most mixed dogs with other breeds because they are super intelligent, loving, family pets and they don’t shed much. People with dog allergies often want a mix with a Poodle for that reason. With designer dogs, breeders have the opportunity to mix various breeds to get the best of both of their best characteristics.

What are some of the most popular designer dogs?

Well, we just happen to have a list of some of our favorite designer dogs (though admittedly we love them all)! Each pup is unique and has their own set of personalities, health stats, etc. and we’ll share a few tidbits for each of the designer dogs.

The Labradoodle

This designer dog is the mix of a Labrador Retriever and Poodle. It was created to be the ideal hypoallergenic dog with exceptional health, intelligence, and a genuinely kind disposition.

The Mal-shi

This is a regal cross between a Maltese and Shih Tzu. Both of these little dogs have royal history. They’re notorious cuddlers and overall well-rounded little dogs.

The Schnoodle

Once again, the Poodle has been mixed with another highly intelligent dog. We’re talking about the Schnauzer. This is a hypoallergenic blend, but that’s not it. They’re also funny, healthy, spunky, and some have lifespans to 15 years!

The Pomchi

You’re having a hard time trying to make up your mind between a Chihuahua and a Pomeranian? Well, don’t worry. The Pomchi solves all of your problems! These little pint-sized beauties are protective and think they’re larger than they actually are. Both breeds make for one of the most loyal of the designer dogs – the Pomchi.

One thing we know for sure and that’s no matter which of our designer dogs you decide to purchase we are here to help you the entire way!
